The design was clearly influenced by Apple's consumer desktop, the iMac. In fact, the marketing slogan was "iMac to go". The clamshell design also echoed the eMate 300. Apple continued its trend of using transparent colored plastics for the shell, and releasing a product in multiple colours. Like the iMac, the iBook G3 had a PowerPC G3 CPU, and no legacy Apple interfaces. USB, Ethernet, modem ports and an optical drive were standard. The ports were left uncovered along the left side: a cover was thought to be fragile. When the lid was closed, the hinge kept it firmly shut, so there was no need for a latch on the screen. The hinge included an integrated carrying handle. Additional power connectors on the bottom surface allowed multiple iBook G3s to be charged on a custom-made rack. The iBook G3 was the first Mac to use Apple's new "Unified Motherboard Architecture", which condensed all of the machine's core features into two chips, and added AGP and Ultra DMA support.
The iBook was the first mainstream computer ever designed and sold with integrated wireless networking. On the iBook's introduction, Phil Schiller, Apple's VP of Marketing, held an iBook while jumping off a height as data from the computer was transferred to another in order to demonstrate the wireless networking capability. The display bezel contained the wireless antenna, which attached to an optional internal wireless card. Lucent helped create this wireless capability which established the industry standard. Apple released the AirPort Wireless Base Station at the same time.

The iBook is a line of discontinued laptop computers sold by Apple Inc. between 1999 and 2006.
The line was targeted at the consumer and education markets, with lower specifications and prices than the PowerBook, Apple's higher-end line of laptop computers.
Three distinct designs of the iBook were introduced during its lifetime. The first design, known as the "Clamshell", was a significant departure from portable computer designs at the time due to its shape, bright colors, incorporation of a handle, and wireless networking. Two years later, a second line abandoned the original form factor in favor of a more conventional rectangular design. In October 2003, the third design added a PowerPC G4 chip and a slot-loading drive.
Apple replaced the iBook line with the MacBook in May 2006 during Apple’s transition to Intel processors.

iPhoto is designed to allow importing from digital cameras, scanners, picture CDs and the Internet. Almost all digital cameras are recognized without additional software, as are many scanners. iPhoto supports most common image file formats.
After photos are imported, they can be optionally titled, labeled, sorted and organized into groups (known as "events"). Individual photos can be edited with basic image manipulation tools, such as a red-eye filter, contrast and brightness adjustments, crop and resize and other basic functions. iPhoto does not, however, provide the comprehensive editing functionality of programs such as GIMP, Apple's Aperture, or Adobe's Photoshop (not to be confused with Photoshop Elements or Album).
The current version of iPhoto, included with iLife '09, features facial recognition and allows for tagging and organizing photos by person. As well, iPhoto will read embedded GPS tags in photos and organize photos by location, represented by a pin on a map (powered by Google Maps). Photos taken using a camera that does not support geotagging can be manually tagged with a location within iPhoto.

iPhoto is a software application made by Apple Inc. exclusively for their Mac OS X operating system. The first version of iPhoto was released in 2002. It is part of the iLife suite of applications and comes bundled with every new Macintosh computer. iPhoto can import, organize, edit, print and share digital photos. It is often compared to Google's Picasa, CyberLink MediaShow, Adobe's Photoshop Album, Microsoft Expression Media and Windows Photo Gallery. iLife 09, including the current version of iPhoto, was announced on 6 January 2009.

Apple's first tablet computer was the Newton MessagePad 100, introduced in 1993, which led to the creation of the ARM6 processor core with Acorn Computers. Apple also developed a prototype PowerBook Duo-based tablet, the PenLite, but did not sell it to avoid hurting MessagePad sales. Apple released several more Newton-based PDAs, and discontinued the last, the MessagePad 2100, in 1998.
Apple re-entered the mobile-computing market in 2007 with the iPhone. Smaller than the iPad but featuring a camera and mobile phone, it pioneered the multitouch interface of iPhone OS. By late 2009, the iPad's release had been rumored for several months. Mostly referred to as "Apple's tablet", iTablet and iSlate were among speculated names. The iPad was announced on January 27, 2010 by Steve Jobs at an Apple press conference at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Three days later, at the 52nd Grammy Awards, Stephen Colbert used an iPad in announcing the nominees.
Apple began taking pre-orders for the iPad from U.S. customers on March 12, 2010. The Wi-Fi version of the iPad went on sale in the United States on April 3, 2010, at 9:00 am local time, with hundreds of customers lined up outside stores nationwide. The Wi-Fi + 3G version was released on April 30.3G service in the United States is provided by AT&T and sold with two prepaid contract-free data plan options: one for unlimited data and the other for 250 MB per month at half the price. The plans are activated on the iPad itself and can be canceled at any time.
The iPad will also be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK at the end of May 2010. Apple stated they will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders for iPad on May 10. Israel recently authorized importation of the iPad, after a brief prohibition related to possible Wi-Fi interference with other devices.

The iPad is a tablet computer designed and marketed by Apple for Internet browsing, media consumption, gaming, and light content creation. Unlike many older tablets, it uses fingertips for input instead of a stylus. Released in April 2010, it established a new class of devices between smartphones and laptops. As of May 3, 2010, Apple had sold 1 million iPads.

Like the older (and smaller) iPod Touch and iPhone, the iPad runs the iPhone OS and uses a multi-touch LCD for most user interactions. It runs iPad-specific applications as well as those written for the iPhone and iPod touch, including e-book readers.

The iPad uses WiFi or its 3G data connection to browse the Internet, load and stream media, and install software. A physical cable is required to sync the iPad with iTunes on a PC.

Ipaq Pocket PC

iPAQ presently refers to a Pocket PC and personal digital assistant first unveiled by Compaq in April 2000; the name was borrowed from Compaq's earlier iPAQ Desktop Personal Computers. Since Hewlett-Packard's acquisition of Compaq, the product has been marketed by HP. The device uses a Microsoft Windows interface. In addition to this, there are several Linux distributions that will also operate on some of these devices. Earlier, units were modular. "Sleeve" accessories, technically called jackets, which slide around the unit and add functionality such as a card reader, wireless networking, GPS, and even extra batteries were used. Current iPAQs have most of these features integrated into the base device itself.

Hewlett-Packard introduced the first SmartPhone iPaq Pocket PC that looks like a regular cell phone and has VoIP capability. The series is the HP iPAQ 500 Series Voice Messenger.
